Terms of Use

By downloading, accessing, or using TraceMap, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

TraceMap is a fog-of-war exploration app for iOS and Android. The map starts fully fogged, and your live GPS position clears an organic radius around you in real time as you physically walk or run, permanently revealing that area on your account. The service includes:

• •Speed-based movement detection, so only walking and running clear the fog — driving does not
• •Stats on the % of a city you've explored and your city-wide rank
• •Friends and city-wide leaderboards
• •Animated post-session recaps of what you revealed
• •Hidden rewards discoverable along real-world routes
• •Account-based progress that syncs across your devices

• •You must be at least 13 years old to create a TraceMap account
• •You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date
• •You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• •One account per person; accounts may not be shared, sold, or transferred

Using TraceMap requires granting location access, including background access, so the map can reveal while you walk or run. Movement speed is used to determine whether an activity qualifies — travel that looks like driving or other vehicle use will not clear the fog. GPS and speed detection are not perfect: accuracy can vary by device, signal, and environment, and classification may occasionally be incorrect.

TraceMap is designed to be used while walking or running. You agree to:

• •Stay aware of your surroundings — traffic, terrain, and other people — at all times while using the app
• •Never use TraceMap, or interact with your phone, while driving or operating a vehicle
• •Use the app at your own risk; consult a physician before beginning any new physical activity if needed
• •Follow all local laws, trespassing rules, and traffic regulations while exploring

TraceMap and iSee Labs are not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the app while exploring the real world.

You agree not to:

• •Falsify or spoof GPS location, or use automated tools or bots to simulate movement
• •Interfere with the speed-based movement detection to fraudulently clear the map or earn rewards
• •Harass, impersonate, or abuse other users on leaderboards or social features
• •Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
• •Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms

Hidden rewards discovered while exploring have no monetary value, are not redeemable for cash, and may be added, changed, or removed at any time. We do not guarantee the availability of any specific reward at any location.

Your username, rank, and % explored may be visible to other users through friends and city-wide leaderboards. You're responsible for what you share through your profile and username. Where we offer the option, you may opt out of public leaderboard visibility in your account settings.

TraceMap relies on third-party mapping, location, and infrastructure providers to operate. Your use of the app may be subject to those providers' own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or accuracy.

TraceMap, including its design, features, and content, is owned by iSee Labs and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

TraceMap is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy of location, map reveal, or reward placement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, iSee Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of TraceMap, including damages related to physical activity, navigation, or reliance on location data.

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of TraceMap after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
